Price: $$$$ 128-170

Have you ever been to Disney World?  Or have you been some place that you still talk about to this day?  A place that was so scary or fun or entertaining that you just can't stop talking about it.  Well at the 2012 Feast of Men, The Prime Rib in Philadelphia gave us one of those evenings to remember.
ATMOSPHERE
We have never been to a place, so far, where the atmosphere was less than acceptable.  The Prime Rib, The Civilized Steakhouse, as they go by, was a charm...

How to get fall off the bone beef ribs!

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Friday, May 20, 2011, In : Beef Ribs
Ok so I'm have to admit I'm a rib fan.  But you know I like beef and pork ribs and I have found some good pork ones that I posted about but I have not ever found anyone who could cook a good beef rib.
The reason why most people can't cook beef ribs is because they don't cook them long enough.  We all want a tender rib that is fall off the bone and tastes great.  Well in order to get them tender you have to rap them.  That is if you're going to do them on the grill.  The way I'm going to ...

Where to get good ribs in Charlotte!

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, In : Ribs
You know when we first moved down to North Carolina a few years ago, being the foodie that I am, I have become very fond of certain foods and places to get them at.  So when I got a taste for ribs and started asking around no one could tell me where to get some decent ribs at so I had to find out for myself.
If you want some pretty good ribs and don't feel like cooking them up for yourself I have found a couple of places that you can get some good ones at.  The top place on my list hands d...

Holiday Inn/Oneonta

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Friday, March 19, 2010, In : Holiday Inn

Well this years FEAST OF MEN was held at the Holiday Inn, in Oneonta New York by one of our own members Paul Lawrence. He is the General Manager at this particular hotel. Why did he want to risk complete humiliation and ridicule I will never know, but we had fun.
To add to the excitement and fun we added three new members, Muga Katoke a friend of Paul’s and now a friend of ours. Also sixteen year old Javaughn “The Giant” Johnson and fifteen year old Taharen “Terrible” William...

This was my first participation in the Feast of Men event. I can not give enough props to this event. Everything including the meal, location and the friendships that were developed at that event are positively memorable. Good job Oneonta.

The Palm/Charlotte

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Friday, January 8, 2010, In : The Palm

I revisited a second restaurant I've been to recently because I got some coupons in the mail.  The Palm has a 837 club membership and I'm a member of it.  I got my memebership free but it costs $25 to join the club and earn points everytime you eat there.  If you keep, I believe, 500 points on your card you get a free lobster tail for your birthday.  If it were steak we would be in business.
I told you before that I got the Prime Rib and it wasn't to good.  This time I got the 24oz Ribey...

LongHorn Steakhouse/Gastonia

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Friday, January 8, 2010, In : LongHorn Steakhouse
I've been away for awhile sorry, but I went back to LorngHorn Steakhouse.  I haven't been back in over a year. But this time I went I got some Prime Rib.  They didn't have it on the menu before when I went.  I was with the who family this time usually when I write and give you a price it's for two people.  There were five of us this time, all three kids came. My wife got the Ribeye and I was tempted to do the same but since I haven't had their Prime Rib yet I got that instead.
It was good not ...

Old Stone SteakHouse/Belmont

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Thursday, October 15, 2009, In : Old Stone SteakHouse

I recently went to Old Stone SteakHouse in Belmont.  The best part of my meal was the appetizer and that was just some boneless wings.  The steak I ordered was a 14oz ribeye with it's so called "signature" butter on top was at best less than average.  Not to mention this was the smallest 14oz steak I have ever had.  I had a 10oz ribeye at the Hard Rock Cafe that was bigger than this.  No flavor except for the butter on top, it would have been very bland without it.  I didn't have time to ask ...

Capital Grille/Charlotte

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Monday, October 5, 2009, In : Capital Grille

My lastest place of critique was the Capital Grille in Charlotte.  Let me suggest you bring a sweater because it was cold.  But when you go it may be alright since they will probably be warming it up inside since it's cooling down outside.
Anyway on to the meat.  I ordered the ribeye called the Delmonico Steak a bone in ribeye cut.
They use a sweet vinigerette on the steak and seal the flavor in with a type of crushed, almost to a powder, mushrooms and sear the outside of it which locks in ...

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse/Charlotte, Baltimore MD

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Thursday, September 17, 2009, In : Ruth's Chris Steak House
I've been to Ruth's Chris Steak House in Baltimore MD and here in Charlotte and they've got their act together.
Both places I ordered the Ribeye, and again everything was a la carte and can get pricey but the Ribeye was worth every penny.  They don't mind giving you a man size portion even if your a little guy.  I appreciate the swollen stomach when I go.  Just like Flemings Restaurant I have nothing bad to say about their Ribeye.  You can't go wrong with it, tender, juicy and hefty when i...

Flemings Restaurant/Charlotte

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Thursday, September 17, 2009, In : Flemings Restaurant
Flemings Restaurant in Charlotte had to be one of the best and average experiences I've ever had.
I went to Flemings twice because they only serve Prime Rib on Sunday so I had to go back and try it.  But the first time I went I got the Ribeye and this time I got the blue cheese crust topping on it.  That was the first time I ever got that.  This Ribeye was so tender and delicious I had to sit back and take it all in for a moment.  I mean I literally put my fork down and sat back in my se...

LongHorn Steakhouse/Gastonia

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Thursday, September 17, 2009, In : LongHorn Steakhouse
Ladies and Gentlemen, our first "GO GET IT," goes to LongHorn Steakhouse in Gastonia.  Most places I go to the best steak is at the smaller less expensive places.  I got the Ribeye there and it was great!  I didn't think it was going to be as good as it was because most of the big chains don't have good chefs it seems.  But my first bite was fantastic, no need for sauce although they gave me some and was able to finish without it and was glad to do it.  Longhorn is easy on the pocket and load...

Bentley’s on 27th/ Charlotte

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Thursday, September 17, 2009, In : Bentley’s on 27th
Bentley’s on 27th has a great view and the view of my Prime Rib was great until I tasted it!  It wasn't horrible and I haven't had a steak that was so bad that I wanted to spit it out.  But in my search for the best Prime Rib ever, I want sparks and I want whistles.  I also want my money back because for the price I paid for my meal, I didn't get any of that when I tasted it.  By far it was plan and needed work.  Now I know you pay for the view.  But if everything I order for a price of ove...

Tha Palm Restaurant/Charlotte

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Thursday, September 17, 2009, In : The Palm
These next few blogs I'm going to get to the point.  Everybody has a different way of looking at restaurants.  As far as atmosphere goes that all depends on your mood, romantic go some place quiet, rowdy, go some place where you can get loud.  Then it depends on your pocket, some people can never eat at certain restaurants other just won't!  Your service is up in the air because I've had good and bad experiences at expensive and budget places.  It all depends on who you get and what type of m...

Great Steak!/The Friar's Table, Buffalo NY, 2008

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Monday, September 7, 2009, In : The Friar's Table
My last post told you about the best Prime Rib I've ever had.  But I have to say that this place almost dethroned it.  The Friar's Table in Buffalo NY, was a great place to eat.
At this Feast Of Men meeting there was a lot of people there.  The four F.O.M members were there as well as other guests that were invited.  As they say "The more the merrier," is a true statement because we had a good time.
The atmosphere was a laid back one as we laughed and joked with each.  No problem being ...

The Best So Far!/Shula's Steak House, Baltimore MD, 2007

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Monday, September 7, 2009, In : Shula's Steak House
On our endless search for the best Prime Rib in the US we find ourselves at Shula's Steak House in Baltimore Maryland.  This Feast Of Men meeting only involved two of the four F.O.M members due to inclement weather. But I assure you that the other two members would agree, when I tell you that this was the best Prime Rib that we have had to date!
There was two sides, of Shula's the sports bar side and we were on the other side with the suit and tie people.  It was nice, the atmosphere was q...

Charlie Brown's Steak House, Middletown NY, 2009

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Monday, September 7, 2009, In : Charlie Brown's Steakhouse
The title Champ is here, is based on the FACT that I won the challenge of eating the most out of 4 others who took part in this yearly event. Although this is NOT an eating competition, we end up judging who has eaten the most after we all have concede and weight the remaining portions left on our plates.
We voted on Middletown, NY for our 2009 Feast of Men event to be hosted by Eddie Loren Williams. He chose Charlie Brown Steak House, a well known steak house with a fresh salad bar.  My overa...

Surprise!/Dakota Steak House, Latham NY, 2006

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Friday, April 3, 2009, In : Dakota Steak House

The F.O.M meeting held at Dakota Steakhouse in Latham NY only involved three of the four members. We didn’t have prior reservations to this restaurant so we weren’t sure that they would be able to accommodate the F.O.M. But we took our chances and spoke to the hostess to see if they had 150 oz’s of prime rib laying around in the kitchen. To our surprise we got the last of it. One of the steaks came in two 25oz pieces. You got to get it how you can when it’s at the last moment.

Where it started/Red Osier Landmark, Stafford NY, 2005

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Monday, March 30, 2009, In : Red Osier Landmark

Our first few FEAST OF MEN or F.O.M meetings were held at the Red Osier Landmark Restaurant located in Stafford NY about four or five miles east of Batavia NY. They have what is called a Call Cut which when we went they listed it as a 72oz prime rib. Now they list it as four or five pounds of prime rib.

So for our first few times going I thought the place was great. It had a nice atmosphere good place to take a date or if you want to take family out for a nice dinner. Nice soft music playing...

My First Encounter/Red Osier Landmark, Stafford NY, 2003

My name is Chris and for me it all started on March 5th 2003. See that's my birthday and on this particular date I woke up to a crapy start. Its wierd how you can wake up beside someone and still feel lonely. Well my best friend saw how pitiful I looked and invited me to go out to eat with his family. He told me that his wife was taking him to a fancy restaurant in Stafford New York. He said since she's buying me dinner for my birthday I'll pay for yours. Me being the food devourer I am, I co...

Not bad!/Charlie Brown's Steakhouse, Middletown NY, 2009

Posted by Jeremai Williams on Thursday, March 12, 2009, In : Charlie Brown's Steakhouse
This F.O.M dinner was held at Charlie Brown's Steakhouse in Middletown NY.  This was our most recent Prime Rib adventure and was our biggest cut to date!
The atmosphere was laid back and was fun.  No problems with anything as far as the enjoyment level goes.  The dress code was nothing special, you didn't have to dress up or anything like that.  That was especially good for us since we would have to unbuckle ours belts pretty soon.
The service was excellent to be honest, the chef came...
