The F.O.M meeting held at Dakota Steakhouse in Latham NY only involved three of the four members. We didn’t have prior reservations to this restaurant so we weren’t sure that they would be able to accommodate the F.O.M. But we took our chances and spoke to the hostess to see if they had 150 oz’s of prime rib laying around in the kitchen. To our surprise we got the last of it. One of the steaks came in two 25oz pieces. You got to get it how you can when it’s at the last moment.
The place was well thronged with people and had a fun atmosphere. Nothing fancy, you could kick back and laugh with your group with no worries of disturbing others, because they were enjoying themselves as well.
Our service was fine. We were seated right away but under the last minute circumstances I was sure that the steaks were not going to be anything to boast about. There wasn’t a long wait for anything including the steaks. I think the waitress liked my brother or maybe it was the other way around.
It was a toss up for who would get the two 25oz portions but I was one of the lucky ones to get a whole one. I ordered mine medium well, as usual, and although I was hungry I was not expecting to be wowed by flavor. So it was a pleasant surprise to my taste buds when they found out that it was well seasoned and cooked exactly the way I wanted. Priced at a dollar a pound I didn’t have any gripes paying the 50 bucks for the whole meal. Glad to pay it and would pay it again with no problem.
I have to say though, it was not the best F.O.M meeting. For me that was third on my list. But the next blog I write I’m going to tell you what number one was. As always stay Blessed.
